Acceptable Behaviour Agreement

An Acceptable Behaviour Agreement (or 'Contract') is an individual agreement between the perpetrator of anti-social behaviour and the Community Safety Partnership whereby the perpetrator agrees not to carry on with specified acts of anti-social behaviour.

They are an established initiative being used to combat anti-social behaviour and are particularly aimed at young people.

ABAs are also used by other organisations that have a responsibility for tackling antisocial behaviour, such as registered social landlords, health authorities, public transport providers, schools and any other agency which seeks to tackle the problems of anti-social behaviour caused by a person of any age.
